Giant Mince Pie

Our open top decorative mince pie is so delicious, especially if made with our homemade mincemeat.

It’s simple to make and will wow your guests much more than the usual shop bought mince pies.

Ingredients

400g mincemeat

225g shortcrust pastry

1 egg, beaten

Suitable for: CleverChef

The Method

Roll out your pastry on a clean flour dusted work surface. Use the top of the inner pot to cut around to pastry to make the base of the pie.

Use some butter to grease the base and slightly up the side of the inner pot, then carefully add your pastry.

Use your fingers to turn up the edges so you have a crust.

Add the mincemeat to the pie base and smooth over evenly.

Brush the crust and any decorative pastry you want to add with the beaten egg.

Close the lid and select the BAKE function then adjust the time to 60 minutes and the temperature to 150°C, then press START.

When the program has finished, open the lid then leave your pie to cool for ~10 minutes before gently removing it from the inner pot.
