Indian Spiced Basmati Rice (PKP 4.8L & 5.7L)
This simple recipe will jazz up your rice and works perfectly alongside any curry dish.
Brown rice is packed with nutrients but does take a little longer to cook than white rice. This recipe is simple to scale up, just adjust the rice and water proportionately.
200g brown basmati rice, rinsed
1 tsp turmeric
2 star anise
4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
4 cloves, lightly crushed
salt and pepper (to taste)
Add all the ingredients to the inner pot and mix everything together.
Put the lid on and close the pressure valve then select the RICE function and adjust the time to 20 minutes.
When the program has finished press CANCEL. For this recipe we recommend the QUICK RELEASE method before opening the pressure valve and removing the lid.
Remove the star anise and stir the rice to fluff it up before serving alongside a curry.
