New Year’s Party Extra Touches

Try these simple, extra touches to create party with all the details!

Hosting this year? Whether it’s a small gathering or entertaining a crowd we have some quick festive decoration ideas that will add something a little special to your New Year dinner celebrations.

So whilst your food is cooking in the Drew & Cole Clever Chef, PKP or Soup Chef – have a go at these very simple decoration ideas.

Homemade Napkins

Instead of having plain napkins, why not spruce up your table with this simple but effective idea, that won’t cost the earth? Venture out into your garden and cut a few pieces of pine or ivy. Next, tie the sprig from your garden, together with a piece of twine (rough string or parcel tie from your xmas presents will also work lovely) around the napkin, to give your table that rustic but finished feel.

What you’ll need:

  • Cloth Napkins
  • Sprig of pine from your garden
  • Twine or rough string or parcel tie from xmas presents

Table Centre Piece

Put your guests in the party spirit with a beautiful twinkly table, place a strip of faux foliage across the centre of the table. Lay cinnamon sticks and dried oranges around the leaves which creates a delicious warming scent around the room. To add a little extra sparkle, lay a line of clear lights through the greenery, a battery powered pack can be hidden amongst the foliage.

A simple trick to give your table that party feel is to put tea lights in silver or gold candle holders and place them around the table. If you have little one’s around the table, you can always get battery powered tea lights, that have the same great effect but keep those little finger safe!

What you’ll need:

  • Faux foliage
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Dried Oranges
  • Battery powered Xmas lights
  • Candle holders & Tea lights

Gold Leaf Touches

If you want a touch that is really going to wow your guest, add some edible gold leaf to the rim of your dessert glasses or even to garnish your food such as our smoked salmon canapes or chocolate orange dessert soup. Gold leaf is generally available in most supermarkets, (don’t forget to check the cake decorations isle) so creating this showstopper couldn’t be easier!

What you’ll need:

  • Gold Leaf (and a steady hand)
  •  Dried Orange Slices
