Ingredients
1 x 400g tin chickpeas (drained and rinsed; reserve 2-3 tbsp liquid if desired)
1 small garlic clove
2 tbsp tahini
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp olive oil
2-3 tbsp cold water or reserved chickpea liquid (adjust for creaminess)
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp ground cumin
¼ tsp sumac (optional, for a tangy finish)
Drizzle of olive oil + pinch of paprika for serving
Suitable for: Clever Chop
The Method
Place chickpeas, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, cumin, sumac, and 2 tbsp water or aquafaba in your Clever Chop bowl.
Pulse 6–8 short bursts until mostly smooth.
Add more lemon, tahini, or salt if needed, then pulse a few more times to combine.
Spoon into a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika, sumac, or parsley.
Serve with pita, crackers, or crisp veg.
