Ingredients
1 bottle of red wine
50ml your favourite spirit, like brandy or Cointreau
1 orange, zest & juice
60g golden caster sugar
3 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
1 star anise
3 cardamom pods
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 vanilla pod (optional)

The Method
Add all the ingredients and stir to combine.
Close the lid and select the DIY function. Adjust the temperature to 80°C and the time to 1 hour, then press START.
Give your wine a stir after 20 and 40 minutes. When the program has finished, open the lid and allow the KEEP WARM function to keep your wine warm while your guests ladle in to glasses.
