Granola is packed with protein, fibre and iron, but if you look at the shop-bought sugar content, you might get a shock.
Making your own granola means you know what’s in it and you can get creative with the ingredients too. Maple syrup and pecan nuts are a great combination to add to this recipe. If stored in an air-tight container, this granola can be stored for up to month.
1 tbsp olive or cooking oil
125ml golden syrup
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
300g rolled oats
50g sunflower seeds
4 tbsp sesame seeds
50g pumpkin seeds
100g flaked almonds
100g dried berries
50g desiccated coconut
Suitable for: Pressure King Pro 6L 20-in-1 Pressure Cooker
Mix the oil, syrup, honey and vanilla, then add all other ingredients apart from the sultanas, and stir to combine.
Put the lid on and leave the pressure valve open then select the SLOW COOK function, adjust the time to 1 hr 30 minutes and press START.
After 30 minutes, remove the lid and give the granola a good stir then put the lid back on. After another 30 minutes do the same again but this time stir in the sultanas for the final 30 minutes.
When the program has finished press CANCEL. Remove the lid and give the granola one final stir and then leave to cool.
