Ingredients
85g plain flour
35g cocoa powder
120g caster sugar
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda
Pinch of salt
2 large eggs
50ml vegetable oil
1 tbsp milk
1tsp vanilla extract
3oml hot water or coffee (cooled a little)
Quick Frosting Ingredients
50g softened butter
20g cocoa powder
80g icing sugar
1-2 tbsp cream
½ tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
Suitable for: Clever Chop
The Method
Add to your Clever Chop bowl:
flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, bicarb, and salt.
Pulse 2–3 short bursts to mix.
Add eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla.
Pulse 4–6 short bursts until smooth and thick.
Pour in the cooled hot water or coffee
Pulse 2–3 short bursts until glossy and pourable.
Pour into a greased & lined 1 lb loaf tin or 6-inch round tin.
Bake at 190C/170C fan for 25-30 minutes. The centre should just set.
Pulse until creamy and smooth. Spread over the cooled cake.
